Multiple hardcore suppliers! 1440MW offshore wind power project ready

Recently, the Polish Baltic Sea MFW Ba ł tyk II and MFW Ba ł tyk III offshore wind power projects jointly developed by Polenergia and Equinor have obtained offshore and onshore construction permits, and all construction permits for these two projects have been approved, just one step away from starting construction.

The Ba ł tyk II and Ba ł tyk III offshore wind power projects are located in the exclusive economic zone of the Baltic Sea in Poland, 22 to 37 kilometers away from the coast, with a water depth of about 25 to 40 meters. The installed capacity is 720MW for both projects, totaling 1440MW. It is planned to install 100 Siemens Gamesa SG 14-236 DD offshore wind turbines.

At present, the main contracts during the construction period of Ba ł tyk II and Ba ł tyk III projects have been basically determined: Siemens Gamesa is responsible for providing wind turbines; Cadeler is responsible for installing offshore wind turbines; Sif Group in the Netherlands is responsible for delivering single pile foundations; Heerema Marine Contractors in the Netherlands is responsible for transporting and installing single pile foundations and offshore substations; Seaway 7 is responsible for the engineering design, procurement, construction, and installation of cables between arrays.

The Ba ł tyk II and Ba ł tyk III projects will begin land preparation work this year. The wind farm is expected to generate electricity for the first time as early as 2027 and enter commercial operation in 2028. After completion, it can provide power to over 2 million households.

In the second phase of the development of the offshore wind power industry in Poland, Equinor and Polenergia will also develop the Ba ł tyk I project. The offshore wind farm will be located about 80 kilometers off the coast near the coast of Bereba, with an installed capacity of up to 1560MW. According to the developer, the total power generation of all three Ba ł tyk projects will reach 3GW, providing green energy for over 4 million households.
